  • Jono Griffiths

Mythoclast is now bugged in PvP starts with less ammo etc. Being treated as a fusion rifle. The nerf was not supposed to affect it, will be fixed at a later date.

    • diabolicm

Because it is a fusion rifle…

      • WSquared88

That is true, but the ammo is supposed to be pulled from the slot it is in not the type of weapon that it is. Primary weapons pull from the primary ammo pool not the auto rifle pool or the pulse rifle pool. It is a bug and it will probably be fixed soon.

      • Keith Christmas

        No it’s not.

If you don’t have one already, get yourself a Vision of Confluence. And then get a Murmur. Go fire them both. Then get the Mythoclast, fire that, and tell me which one it has more in common with.

If Bungie release a new exotic shotgun, and the perks are “this shotgun equips in the heavy slot” and “this shotgun fires rockets”, is it still a shotgun just because Bungie called it one, or if we’re being honest, is it actually a rocket launcher?

Doesn’t matter what’s on the label. The Vex is in no way, shape or form a fusion rifle in anything but name.

    • NLK3

      Good, because it is.

  • insanetrasher

Can’t wait to enter RoC strikes with dual shotguns :p

  • Adamms

A lot of great things in this one. Thanks for it Bungie <3

  • ƩɴɪɢϺΛ™

Wow. My favorite game just got better. GUARANTEED drops for Crucible, YES PLEASE!!!! So much win with this patch.

    • NLK3

      Where? I don’t see it.

      • ƩɴɪɢϺΛ™

2nd to last bullet under pvp/general

        • fearund30

It says proper level not guaranteed drops, I think that is not the same thing

    • ForeverLaxx .

Nothing was stated about “guaranteed” drops, just that the drops you -do- get should be appropriate for your light/weapon value. IE: getting level 20 blue armor with 17 light instead of a level 20 armor with 8 light.

      • ƩɴɪɢϺΛ™

A victim of hype is me. Still, excellent patch though.

  • j

bad juju is actually bad now

    • Grymwulf

I was thinking of Bad Juju as well. How much badder is it do you think? Much more viable in PvP now? I love it against low level mob trash but against everything else it lacks.

I’m confused when it says Damage has been increased. Is that the big number shown on the weapon screen? Is that the impact rating?

      • drsprite

It’s more like an item level. It would represent the damage per second, (impact damage) x (rate of fire), but Destiny isnt that exact. It’s pretty close, just not exact.

        • Grymwulf

Ah ok, thanks, that makes sense. Regardless, excited to put it through its paces in PvE and PvP to see if I can tell a difference. If not I’ll probably go back to Thorn, except for when I’m being swarmed by Thralls.

    • Imran Sattaur

      Why is it bad now?

      • Think he means like ‘bad to the bone’

  • BiOTOoSavaGe

“networking improvements” are probably the best thing on this list. Hopefully it helps a lot lol

    • Dan

I hope so. Tired of getting kicked all the time for beavers, squirrels, chipmunks, caterpillars and such

  • MarcoLorenzo

“Completed matches will now award gear with the proper power level” <– what does this mean exactly? What is power level? The attack rating or class?

    • It’s hard to tell

      • MarcoLorenzo

So rare or legendary? As in, if we are ll lvl 30 and above then we’re guaranteed a legendary item if we get a drop?

        • That almost seems too good to be true, I think they just mean Attack values

          • Jonathan Bowers-Bone

I really want to see Bungie explain some of these changes..

          • MarcoLorenzo

Yeah that’s what I thought. But I wonder what they mean by “proper”. As in, what stat are they using to measure “proper”…i guess we’ll just have to play and see!

  • unknown

They said this changes won’t change game experience…lol what a scums

  • Yeahhhhh

Oh man, time to dust off that Universal Remote for ROC strikes 😀

  • Alejandro

Love this : Weekly Heroic Strike now is a matchmade activity 🙂

    • Dan

This and the heavy ammo fix are the only reasons I’m not rolling my eyes at some of the other stuff

    • BAMozzy69 .

Its one of the most disappointing aspects from my perspective. It now means that I am forced to play with (upto) 2 others who could be under level and only there so they get the rewards – not interested or capable of being part of the fireteam. If people can’t be bothered to make the effort in finding friends or other players then they obviously aren’t going to be that capable and want to be carried through on activities.
At most this should have been ‘optional’ and then I wouldn’t be forced into playing with Randoms – its also the main reason I don’t play the Vanguard strikes too!

      • trey

        Your an id Idiot.. Lol

        • BAMozzy69 .

And you must be incapable of doing this Solo and billy-no-mates… Someone hoping to sponge off and be carried through to get the rewards….

      • J.T

You do realize you can still find your own fireteam, right?

        • BAMozzy69 .

You do realise that maybe I don’t want to have to do it with others IF I don’t want, right?
What if I want to do t with just 1 friend or Solo like I have been able to do until now??

      • Christian

If you are a level 31-32 you should really be doing them solo. It is just far too easy to solo Weeklies for 9 strange coins at that level. I’m 31 and it only takes me 30 mins for most. The matchmaking system is for those who don’t have a fire team, are lower levels or can’t solo it. You seem to be beyond their league anyway so the matchmaking system is probably irrelevant to you.

        • Nighthawk_0430

He can’t solo it now, that’s the thing. It forces matchmaking onto you, it’s you either go in with 2 other people, or you don’t do it for that week

          • Christian

Oh, I was told you can solo it still. Oh well, If you can solo it then you can do it with 2 people for sure. Plus I’m sure you can still bring 2 friends, like it was before.

          • Nighthawk_0430

It’s just annoying now, did my first matchmaking weekly today, had me and 2 others. First guy was fine, the other guy would lag behind out of sight of everything and just afk the whole fight

          • Christian

Same here. Did the weekly at LV30 with 2 level 28s. They were both terrible, one tried to speed run the whole thing and died at every stage. But it was still easier than soloing it so it is literally no different to me. Was just a bit faster. Annoying strike to do with randoms though.

      • fenrie

i agree with you, but if you say that in they will call you a loner or other things.

That being said, there is a way to solo the weekly.

According to some people, just change the date in ypur ps4, that way ypu will never match with anybody because there is nobody online that day.

    • Cooperus

Hopefully they will come up with a way for us to turn off auto matchmaking for those of us who prefer to solo the weeklies. That would be awesome.

  • Dannis Voong

It doesn’t mention anything about PVP issue: Players won’t respawn (allowing the team with most players alive at the moment to capture all the points and win).

    • Dan

Wow for real! I thought this only happened to me

  • Thiago123

Lots of good stuff. Still need more Vault Space!

  • Yeahhhhh

Red Death is tearing it up in Crucible. It’s ridiculous strong

    • Cooperus

Haven’t used mine yet in crucible. now i will. Thanks Bungie!

      • Midship

even before the patch red death kicked ass in the crucible

  • Oriel76

The Disappearing Heavy Ammo bug is still there.

Leave The Fist of Crota with a Full Machine Gun (315 = 87+228) and come back to see Ammos are missing (224 = 87+137) even though I wear the Siren Boots…

It does work upon respawning after death though.

So you still loose ammunition upon going to Orbit

    • Dan

Ugh, for real? I haven’t tried it yet

  • John

    What about more vault space???????

    • Dan

    • Raul

Dang do you really have lots of item?

  • Strife

Time to dust off the old Red Death.

  • byron

I do not understand what cards the grimoire of the house of wolves

  • Jim

Hand Cannons MUST be adjusted a lot more. It should be a mid to close range weapon. It should not be a sniper. Getting shot across the map is ridiculous. And what is up with nerfing the auto rifles AGAIN.

  • Jonathan Bowers-Bone

No more heavy ammo drops from opponent kills in PvP! Wow there goes one of my favourite parts of PvP, chaining heavy ammo pick ups to obtain a kill streak. I wonder if the PvP changes will make the game more focused on consistent primaries that work at multiple ranges, with skill trees to support your primary.

    • Dan

That was such a weird one to throw in there right? I love taking down that guy with the corrective measure and stealing his ammo. It was cool and rewarding feeling!

      • Jonathan Bowers-Bone

Ah corrective measure the only raid weapon dropped for me in in my 5 or 6 runs of vog. I liked how I would have an alternative zone to control to attempt to pick up and load in to my lmg later in the game! I suppose they could do with a patch notes video, like league of legends, to explain the why and what of changes.

  • Dan

Here’s my opinion, for what it’s worth. I think buffing Pulse rifles, and buffing Shotguns for PvE is great. Both needed. I like matchmaking for weeklies. I like the heavy ammo fix (though I haven’t tested it so I’m not sold yet). I like Network improvements if it actually helps me not get kicked from games so many times. I don’t like Auto Rifles and Hand Cannons getting nerfed. Just makes me feel like I’m a guinnea pig in their giant beta testing process. Every time I get attached to a weapon they fry it. Leave PvE alone at least. I don’t like taking away heavy ammo drops from kills in PvP. That was such a cool thing and a way to turn the tides for your team. Everything else is ok I think, I’d have to look at the notes again. I just wish they had included Crota hard mode glitch fixes and more Vault space. Accessing Vault from Orbit would be amazing too but I understand how that could take more time

  • leftakes

i like most of this update but cmon patching the auto rifles again, the vex is now 100% useless in pvp cause it has no ammo and my suros does nearly 70 less crit damage in pve wtf. Thank god for the shotgun double damage cause i cant remmember the last time i used one…

  • enjaytee

Decreased over-penetration value for weapons with armor piercing perks

    • Fenrir

This interest me. What effect does this change will have? No more penetrating walls to kill hiding enemies?

      • You can, but many walls won’t work. We’ll talk about in podcast #6

        • fenrir

Would ypu say that arnor piercing is now useledd for pvp?

  • ElekTriX

They went a little bit WAYY too far overboard with the damage buff for pulse rifles. Now they’re almost the only gun worth using unless you’re at long range but you can always pack a sniper. One bursted with Red death on my first game in crucible wasn’t fun…
The rest of the update is great but jesus, they need to scale the damage per bullet back again.

  • BAMozzy69 .

Personally I am not impressed with the weapon ‘balancing’ – particularly from a PvE perspective. It seems that AR’s have been nerfed too heavily and certainly more than the 2.5% they stated. They maybe the most common used but lets be honest they are the most versatile and also first weapon type we get. I do think Pulse Rifles needed that buff but I still think they ‘kick’ too much to be effective at mid ranges and certainly not precision instruments. I think the grouping needs to be a lot tighter. They really ought to be more like a burst scout in handling as they have less shots – Bad Juju only 8 shots before reloading and impossible to get all 3 shots to land on the head at mid range. Its still far more likely I will use a Scout or Hand Cannon than a Pulse due to accuracy and precision damage.
I will still not use a Shotgun in PvE due to the lack of Range. I would still rather use a Fusion in these situations due to the fact they reach out further and have much quicker reloads too.
Personally I think Bungie needed to Buff the Pulse Rifles accuracy (that kick is ridiculous) more than the damage output – why upgrade damage when some bullets won’t hit – especially at mid ranges…. I don’t think they needed to nerf other weapons to make Pulse seem better. Lets be honest Hard Light doesn’t get used much any way and its now going to get used less – still no reason to use Necrochasm either – one of the hardest guns to get and requires a lot of effort too.
At least they have fixed the Heavy (and bonus) Ammo problem – just wish they increased the Vault too!!
I am also disappointed they made the Weekly Heroic a compulsory matchmaking activity. I don’t want to be carrying a player (or 2) who are under-level and just there to get the rewards. I think they should have made it optional at the most. I don’t play the Strike list primarily because it pairs me with Randoms so the changes to rotation
won’t affect me but glad they have changed the rotation.I really don’t care about my faction levels or vanguard marks as the rewards are pointless and makes no difference. I have nothing to spend my marks on anyway and any item awarded is only going to get broken down. However I don’t mind this being added as for some it will be useful no doubt – saves running all round the tower just to find out each rep value.
I can’t comment on how this update affects PvP as I don’t play it often enough. On the occasions that I have, I must admit the on of the things I hated was playing the same map again so hopefully this is now fixed.
I know this is a fairly long comment but it is a lot of changes…

  • Oriel76

Is it because of the Update that the Daily Mission is LvL28 max ?

  • Jarrett

My bad juju DESTROYED in the crucible last night. Thanks Bungie!

  • Aaron

After playing the update, I really didn’t notice much difference at all. Shotguns still have no range, and pulse rifles still buck around making it hard to land 3 shots consistently. So, they didn’t really solve the problems those weapon types have. I did notice that auto rifles take longer to kill. I never play PvP, so my guess is the changes make a lot more difference there. I’d really like the vault space. And I don’t like being matched with randoms at all. Ever. So forcing me to do it on the weekly strikes makes me glad Xur hasn’t old anything worth a damn in months, as I have no reason to get the strange coins weeklies provide.

All in all, doesn’t feel like they did much.
