Why is No Land Beyond a Primary?

Published on: Jan 4, 2015 @ 14:26

Destiny’s expansion I Exotics haven’t been the most sought after Exotics, and for good reason.

Each of the new Exotics lacks something to make it really worthwhile. This article will focus specifically on No Land Beyond.

We have a fully upgraded review for this weapon as well.

No Land Beyond

Special weapons are generally used less than primary weapons, and for specific purposes when a primary isn’t your best choice.

Primary weapons of course are used more often, and are generally useful in most situations.

Weapons are chosen based on situations/circumstances. If you’re in an open area with enemies far away, you’ll probably want to use a sniper rifle. On a smaller map, you may want to use a shotgun rather than a scout rifle.

No Land Beyond doesn’t take advantage of the strengths of sniper rifles, and is a primary oddity. It doesn’t feel like a primary weapon, which makes using it a hassle.

no land beyond sniper

The Vex Mythoclast on the other hand is a primary fusion rifle, but it feels like a primary, and can easily be used in most situations. It’s got the properties of a scout rifle and an auto rifle, which naturally make it a fine choice as a primary weapon.

If it could be fired faster it may feel more like a hand cannon or scout rifle, but other than that, it doesn’t feel like a primary, and would be better served as a special weapon with Hip Fire replacing Primary Care.

What could have been a really fun weapon, is crippled by a low rate of fire and horrible ADS experience. If you’re skilled enough to master the weapon, you may enjoy using it in the Crucible though.

How do you guys feel about it being a heavy weapon? A guaranteed kill from body shots, but with much less ammo?

I gotta say that the weapon itself is very bad. But I can’t help but using it all the time. It sounds great, it looks great (despite the scope) and its very satisfying when you use it successfully. But, I don’t really get why its a primary weapon.

I feel like the gun just flat out sucks, honestly I don’t see the use in it, on any level. The gun needs a major buff. It needs to fire like the fate bringer, and have a much higher impact. It takes way too long to do such little damage with this gun.

sometimes i look at this as a weapon screw up, but it fun to use even though i always end up dead last in pvp

Right now it’s a horrible gun but what I think bungie was going for was a gamble gun. So if they gave it way more reserve ammo and jam the impact x2 or x2.5, it would be an awesome all or nothing gun. To where pro aiming is key and buff the master perk icebreaker dose more crit damage in the current state

Oh an swap out mulligan for surplus.

it should be a heavy n do alot more damage than it dose like a anit tank rifle

Here’s my solution to fix this horrible excuse of an exotic weapon. First take away reserve ammo and make the bolt action one bullet at a time but you never have to swap clips. Second increase impact to make it actually do damage like a sniper rifle, my other sniper rifles do more than this with the increased precision damage. And last design better iron sights.

The fact that it’s a primary weapon and I can only hold 15 bullets in total (after using 18 to start at spawn) with an increased sniper rifle ammo buff is really a huge turn off. It’s a primary weapon and should hold the ammo of one

  • Finlay Jones

give it 4 times as much ammo and it’s at least usable. Trash!

This weapon is amazing in PVP when used right, check out my post under the PVP exotic weapon review about it.
