In Other News

“In Other News” is a new segment we’ve started to let you all know about some miscellaneous Destiny news or information that isn’t quite ‘news-worthy’ enough to warrant an entire article.

Take this article for example; there’s much more content in that article than you expect from reading its title, and we’d like to highlight that kind of stuff in these “other news” articles rather than clogging up others.

Expect these “In Other News” articles to have random, yet useful information, that you probably haven’t heard too much about.

Datto Talks Crucible

Datto has an excellent breakdown as usual about stats in Destiny and how they stack up against each other. What is the best PvP build in regards to your subclass stats? What do armor, recovery and agility actually do for you in the crucible? He answers these questions and explains what you should be focusing on.

He also has a new video about the fabled Vex Mythoclast

All Emblems

Our friends at DestinyTracker have put together an awesome Emblem previewer, so if you’d like to see all of Destiny’s emblems as well as the namecard that you’ll have with it, click here. You’ll notice that the only Exotic emblem is the Eye of Osiris from the Trials of Osiris Crucible event.

Upgraded Sparrow

Finally, have you ever wondered what an upgraded Sparrow looks like? Check out these videos by Reddit user melifecent using the Emerald Coil upgrade:

The Emerald Coil costs 23 Strange Coins from the Agent of the Nine.

Destiny’s Sounds

Midway through this article, you can read about the sounds of Destiny. Audio Director C Paul Johnson reveals that “almost everything that you hear in Destiny was created from scratch, in-house.”

Marks cap

Ever wondered why currency is capped? Reddit user domsays explains in this post.

It’s easy to forget how big the casual community is in this game because the large part of the casual community aren’t vocal. They don’t get on forums or post to reddit. They are content to log on and do their thing as well as they can with the limited time/skill/direction they have.

TL; DR – the cap is for the casuals so they don’t get left behind.

Can the Vault be completed with 3 people?

This team put that question to the test, and surprisingly… the answer is yes!

Check out if you'd like to talk to others about Destiny in a friendly and welcoming community! :)

In my copy of Destiny, there is no “Armor” stat. It’s called Toughness. What’s the mass confusion about the names in this game about, seems to be spreading all around…

How did the Vault get run with 3 people? Atheon sends three people to another timestream and if there’s no one else alive on the outside you’re ‘lost in time’. So if all three are teleported through how is it even possible if there would be no one else left to open the portal back?

Why was the third guy no teleported? O.o

The guardian who stayed out was a Sunsinger Warlock. He would purposefully die right before the Time’s Vengeance buff wore off and as soon as the other two players got sent through the timestream he would use his super to self-resurrect, then defend the gate as normal. Rinse and repeat.

am starting to feel like someone high up in bungie has a thing for fusion rifles cause its beyond me how everything gets nurfed but it and the vex mythoclast is by far the worse it hits harder than my heavy machine gun how is that even fair especially someone like me tryna keep a 2.0+ ratio

    • sycoteck

cause its one of the hardest/rarest guns to get in the game, if it were just like any other gun why would you even strive for it. and in all the time I’ve played destiny i have seen one dude with it and i play curicble at least once a day.

  • So I have the Mythoclast, and they are not joking. It is crazy powerful. I’m a decent to good PvP player, but now I consistently rank as the best player in every match I play. It feels a little bit off balance.

I hope they only nerf the weapon in pvp not anything else cause that is really needed in the raid, and if they do nerf the weapon for the whole game then they need to nerf all classes for the titan, and warlock.
