Bladedancer, Sunsinger, & Defender

DattoDoesDestiny, as always, has an impressive analysis of Destiny. With the following 3 videos, he goes over what is in store once you reach level 15 and unlock the use of the second subclass for your Guardian.

The Defender: It has a very heavy focus in support and defense based abilities and bonuses. It is considered to be a Void damage based subclass, but there is a much greater focus on defense and support.

GRENADE:

  • Magnetic Grenade – “A grenade that attaches to enemies and explodes twice.”
  • Spike Grenade – “A grenade that attaches to any surface and emit a torrent of damaging Void Light.”
  • Suppressor Grenade – “An explosive grenade that prevents enemies from using abilities for a short time.”

JUMP:

  • (Lift – Jump and then press X again while in the air to activate Lift)
  • Increased Height – “Upgrades Lift to carry you higher.”
  • Increased Control – “Upgrades Lift for better directional control while in the air.”
  • Catapult – “Upgrades Lift to provide a strong initial burst of momentum.”

SUPER:

  • (Ward of Dawn – Shape Void Light into an indestructible shield to protect you and your allies from harm with L1 + R1)
  • Armor of Light – “While inside Ward of Dawn you and your allies gain significant damage resistance.”
  • Blessing of Light – “Passing through Ward of Dawn grants you and your allies a temporary shield.”
  • Weapons of Light – “Passing through Ward of Dawn grants you and your allies a temporary increase to weapon damage.”

MELEE:

  • (Disintegrate – Killing an enemy this powerful melee attack creates a Force Barrier around you which absorbs incoming damage.)
  • War Machine – “While Force Barrier is active all your weapons reload and ready blindingly fast.”
  • Gift of Light – “When the shield created by Disintegrate is active all your kills have a chance to create Orbs of Light.”
  • Unbreakable – “Force Barrier continually recharges.”

PASSIVE (1st Set):

  • Titan Codex I – “Training focused on battle recovery and toughness.”
  • Titan Codex II – “Training focused on speed and toughness.”
  • Titan Codex III – “Training focused on battle recovery and speed.”

PASSIVE (2nd Set):

  • Titan Codex IV – “Training focused on all attributes.”
  • Titan Codex V – “Training focused on maximum recovery.”
  • Titan Codex VI – “Training focused on raw speed.”

PASSIVE (3rd Set):

  • Bastion – “Increases the duration of Ward of Dawn.”
  • Relentless – “Increases the duration and strength of the shield created by Disintegrate.”
  • Gift of the Void – “As Ward of Dawn takes damage from enemy fire it creates additional Orbs of Light.”

PASSIVE (4th Set):

  • Untouchable – “Reduces the cooldown time of Ward of Dawn.”
  • Iron Harvest – “Heavy Weapon kills have a chance to create Orbs of Light for your allies.”
  • Illuminated – “Increases the benefits gained by Blessing of Light and Weapons of Light.”

ILLUMINATION = Additional Armor

 

The Bladedancer: It has a heavy focus on arc based damage while also having a lot of skills that enhance melee and generate stealth.

GRENADE:

  • Flux Grenade – “An explosive grenade which deals additional damage when attached to enemies.”
  • Skip Grenade – “A grenade which splits on impact, creating multiple projectiles which seek enemies.”
  • Arcbolt Grenade – “A grenade that chains bolts of lightning to nearby enemies.”

JUMP:

  • (Double Jump – Jump a second time after leaving the ground by pressing X)
  • Higher Jump – “Upgrades Double Jump for even greater height.”
  • Better Control – “Upgrades Double Jump for better directional control while in the air.”
  • Blink – “A short distance teleport that replaces Double Jump.”

SUPER:

  • (Arc Blade – Charge your blade with Arc Light and consume your foes with lightning with L1 + R1)
  • Showstopper – “Press R2 during Arc Blade to damage nearby enemies.”
  • Razor’s Edge – “Press R2 during Arc Blade to unleash a destructive wave of energy that travels along the ground.”
  • Vanish – “Press R2 during Arc Blade to disappear from sight”

MELEE:

  • (Blink Strike – A powerful melee attack with extended range.)
  • Backstab – “Hitting an enemy from behind with Blink Strike causes significantly more damage.”
  • Escape Artist – “Hitting an enemy with Blink Strike grants brief invisibility.”
  • Fast Twitch – “Reduces the cooldown of Blink Strike.”

PASSIVE (1st Set):

  • Path Forgotten – “Training focused on toughness and speed.”
  • Path Forbidden – “Training focused on battle recovery and speed.”
  • Path Unknown – “Training focused on battle recovery and toughness.”

PASSIVE (2nd Set):

  • Way of the Drifter – “Training focused on all attributes.”
  • Way of the Fearless – “Training focused on toughness at all costs.”
  • Way of the Nomad – “Training focused on maximum battle recovery.”

PASSIVE (3rd Set):

  • Fleet Footed – “Increases maximum sprint speed and extends slide distance.”
  • Quick Draw – “Weapons ready immediately after dealing damage with any knife attack.”
  • Gift of the Void – “Increases the duration of invisibility effects.”

PASSIVE (4th Set):

  • Encore – “Killing an enemy with Arc Blade extends its duration.”
  • Stalker – “Gain invisibility after crouching in place for a short time.”
  • Hungering Blade – “Kills with Arc Blade and Blink strike immediately regenerate health.”

ILLUMINATION = Additional Agility

 

The Sunsinger: It has a very heavy focus in solar damage and abilities and has been considered to be a support damage subclass.

GRENADE:

  • Solar Grenade – “A grenade that creates a flare of Solar Light which continually damages enemies trapped inside.”
  • Firebolt Grenade – “A grenade that unleashes bolts of Solar Light at nearby enemies.”
  • Fusion Grenade – “An explosive grenade that causes bonus damage when attached to its target.”

JUMP:

  • (Glide – Jump and then press X again while in the air to activate Glide)
  • Focused Control – “Upgrades Glide for better directional control while in the air.”
  • Focused Burst – “Upgrades Glide to provide an initial boost of speed.”
  • Balanced Glide – “Upgrades Glide to provide bonuses to both speed and control.”

SUPER:

  • (Radiance – Fill yourself with Solar Light, dramatically increasing the effectiveness of all your abilities with L1 + R1)
  • Song of Flame – “While active, Radiance reduces all cooldowns for nearby allies.”
  • Radiant Skin – “While active, Radiance reduces incoming damage.”
  • Fireborn – “Radiance can now be activated from beyond the grave. Doing so returns you to life.”

MELEE:

  • (Scorch – A powerful melee attack that Ignites enemies causing damage over time.)
  • Flame Shield – “Killing an enemy with Scorch reduces incoming damage for a short time.”
  • Solar Wind – “Hitting an enemy with Scorch knocks them back.”
  • Brimstone – “Killing enemies with Scorch causes them to explode.”

  • Arcane Wisdom – “Training focused on battle recovery and speed.”
  • Arcane Spirit – “Training focused on battle recovery and toughness.”

  • Radiant Will – “Increases duration of Radiance.”
  • Viking Funeral – “Enemies you Ignite burn longer and take more damage.”
  • Sunburst – “Killing an enemy with Scorch has a chance to generate Orbs of Light.”

PASSIVE (4th Set):

  • Touch of Flame – “All grenades Ignite enemies causing damage over time.”
  • Angel of Light – “Aiming your weapon while in the air will hold you in place for a short time.”
  • Gift of the Sun – “Gain an additional grenade.”

    Arc blade gone be OP af…but if radiance can revive you and Titans get shields maybe the hunter is the weakest.

    I’d say defender is best by far cause it does everything you would want one in a team combined in one package which is defending ,buffing,debuffing,and creating orbs. The only downside to that class is full reliance on weapons for damage .
